Has someone ever told you "that was a good one" about something you do with them quite frequently and then in the back of your head you start to think "what? did the rest of them suck? why didn't you say something? did you think I couldn't take a little constructive criticism??? blah blah blah"

And then you have that split second where you are about to say some of these thoughts out loud and you realize that you are sort of like those terrible cartoons about how men and women don't understand each other and women are so crazy and complicated etc etc... and you just shut up and remember that probably a closer meaning is, "that was particularly good in the long string of good ones we've had."
